How To Write Your Life Story

September 19 – 9 a.m to 1 p.m.

The workshop will provide guidance in organizing the life story, memoir or personal history.  Participants will write stories or revise stories during the workshop.

The intended outcome  is that each participant will generate an outline for the book, chapter headings and a draft of the first scene of the life story. 

Topics include:
Planning the story by milestones and decades
Identifying and describing scenes
Determining the theme and flow of the story
Deciding point of view
Outlining the chapters
Using artifacts to bring out the story
